A food manufacturer approached us during a critical period after the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) issued both a Notice of Suspension and a Notice of Direction.
The suspension meant the business was unable to manufacture any product until specific conditions were met and signed off by an MPI verifier. In parallel, the Notice of Direction required that every batch of product was to be tested for a defined range of bacteria. Only product that met the required limits could be submitted to MPI’s FLAT team for approval and release for sale.
Compounding the situation, the client also had unresolved issues with their verification agency, leaving them without an active verifier for a period of time. This placed additional pressure on the business and increased the risk of prolonged operational disruption.
